It is important to note that we are not an emergency service. We are unable to offer emergency or urgent appointments for any parts of our service.
If you, a friend or relative are experiencing mental health problems and need emergency treatment, you should contact your GP. He or she can usually deal with a mental health problem more quickly and fully than an A&E department.
Your GP will be able to access emergency mental health services 24 hours a day. If you are unsure which GP surgery to contact, or you do not have your GP's address or phone number to hand, then you can get this information by phoning NHS Direct on 0845 46 47. They will take your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you, or the person you're concerned about, needs urgent support from a Community Drug Team, you should contact them directly. They can give you advice on where to get help for substance misuse problems.
You can also get advice, information and support in an emergency from:
· NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 - open 24 hours
· Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90 - open 24 hours
· SANELINE on 0845 767 8000 - open 12 noon - 11pm Monday to Friday and 12 noon - 6pm at weekends
Other community groups and advice organisations can be found on our 'Other support and help' page.
